ZPizza – Multiple Locations

by PizzaSnobo on June 29, 2011

The ZPizza chain has close to a hundred locations in over fifteen states, with heavy coverage in California and Virginia/DC Metro. They’ve made it to Hawaii as well. In New York, the only location, as of this review, is at JFK Airport Terminal. This should give you an idea of what you’re in for.

At the location where we went, slices were $2.92 (a warning sign) and the pizza spun in racks at the counter (and another!). The atmosphere did remind us of a typical NY or NJ neighborhood spot, but that’s where the similarities ended. The employees were as nice as could be, but when we asked for two plain slices – which they didn’t have ready at the moment – they made us a tiny pie, which they cut in half. The crust was thin, chewy and greasy and probably the best part. The cheese did not taste much like typical slice pizza. It might have contained American cheese! There was only a drop of sauce added but it was your basic boring variety.

Unfortunately, we’ll remember ZPizza as being very greasy and worse than other chain/airport pizzerias like Sbarro or Famiglia.
