Ovest is a great place for pizza if you live in Chelsea, or happen to find yourself going to the dance clubs. The vibe is rustic and fun and is for groups large and small. The pizza at Ovest is very much like their sister restaurant Luzzo’s, crispy personal pies instead of the more strict Neapolitan style that is more soggy and soft.

The pizza at Ovest is very good, but never quite great for us. The crust is the best part, crunchy and fluffy and good enough to eat by itself. There is plenty of cheese, dolloped like little islands across the pie. The sauce is very good as well, but didn’t wow us as much as nearby Donatella’s. The salads and pastas here are also worth trying.

Google Maps reports that Ovest is closed, but that is not the case. So visit Ovest and happily recommend it. If only every town on Earth had one.
