Once this location was home to the popular Go Sushi fast food joint. Now it has been reborn as an upscale pizzeria and restaurant and we are very happy with what we see. Enjoy Olio’s atmosphere as well as the outdoor space, which is just far enough from the street, but come here for the pizza. In fact, the Margherita has won the Italian and World Cup pizza championships.

For some reason Olio doesn’t use di bufala mozzarella on their margherita pie, but their pizza ($12) is about technically D.O.C. perfect. Not just with regard to the minimal ingredients, san marzano tomatoes and wet-in-the-center presentation. Take a look at the cute bulbous oven as well. That’s sticking to the rules. The Olio sauce is fantastic and we can eat it all day. Light and tangy, you could dip just about anything into it. The dough has a nice flavor and just the right amount of char, but it was a little too soggy and salty. The cheese was good and there was just the right amount, but it was a bit gummy the day we ate there.

Olio’s has other fun pizzas to try with ingredients like hot salami, capriossa and artichokes. With the inviting atmosphere, local clientele and great pizzas, Olio’s is a place to frequent, and considerably better than nearby Otto.
