La Villa is a wood fired oven pizzeria in Park Slope, across the street from Blue Ribbon. The restaurant is spacious, the staff is friendly and it’s a good place for groups and families. They serve pizza by the pie along with other Italian dishes, and the beers are served in frosted mugs. The nice selection of gourmet pizzas seems to run even larger than the stated 12 inches.

The Margarita pie has a choice of whole milk mozzarella ($12) or bufala cheese ($14). The crust is very thin with a nice texture and taste resembling Patsy’s. It is this crust that overpowers the rest of the pizza. The sauce is quite light and a little tangy, though was nothing special and a little hard to taste since there was not much of it. The mozzarella is made in house and is soft and mild.

PizzaSnobo had high hopes for this place and it certainly is good enough for your date. La Villa also has locations in Mill Basin and Howard Beach.
