Jo Jo’s is a popular restaurant a couple of miles south of Atlantic City, in Ventnor, where folks from Philadelphia and New Jersey head for the summer. Jo Jo’s is known for good, reasonably priced traditional Italian food served in large portions. They also have a pizzeria.

A large pie at Jo Jo’s is $13. This is a NY style pie. The soft crust was fairly thick, but was neither dense nor airy. Nor was it crunchy or chewy. A letdown in general. Usually PizzaSnobo likes to eat the crust, but we weren’t inclined to this time around. The cheese was good pizzeria grade cheese, however the top of the pie was too oily. The sauce was the best part, freshly made with chunks of Jersey tomatoes.

Overall, for an Italian restaurant that is so popular, Jo Jo’s pizza annex misses the mark. Next time we’ll probably order the chicken parmesan. As far as pizza is concerned, right now it’s looking like Lisa’s is the one to beat.
