Vincenzo’s Pizza – Sag Harbor, NY

Located near the top of Main Street in Sag Harbor, Vincenzo’s is a certainly worth a try – especially on Mondays when Conca d’Oro doesn’t bother to open. There’s not much room to sit at Vincenzo’s, so get it to go, or take a seat on one of the benches outside.

At $2.25, the slices are one of the best deals around – especially when we’re talking Hamptons. (We’ll see if this price holds next summer.) The pizza is good, but falls short of great in a few categories. The crust is thin and crispy with a nice texture. The pizza is a bit oily and could use more cheese. We also found the sauce a little watery and flat. If they could fix the sauce and add a little more cheese, Vincenzo’s might rise to 5 slices. But for now, they are average, which in the world of pizza, means it is quite good.

The saucy, doughy Sicilian slices are very good and the other specialty pies look nice. But please lose the sesame seeds around the crust. It makes us think we’re eating pizza in Canada.
