Village Pizza NYC Restaurant reviewVillage Pizza located near the corner of 8th ave and 13th street is one block from the style conscious hordes that clog the streets of the meat packing district. Although seating will only accommodate 6 or so diners, this little joint sits directly across the street from Jackson Square, a small triangular “park” complete with numerous benches and an ornate prewar fountain.

The crust of Village Pizza’s slices ($2.50) borders on the dry and bland, but is somewhat redeemed by just the right amount of charring. The sauce leans towards the tart end of the spectrum and the cheese is of good qualityVillage Pizza Restaurant New York City and distributed properly; being never too thick and allowing for the occasional sauce only regions.

Grab a slice of this better than average pizza and head across the street to Jackson Square. There you may enjoy a moment of relative peace away from the NYC chaos.
