Pop-A-Pizza is a small pizzeria that serves jumbo slices. Unfortunately, like most jumbo places we’ve been to, Pop-A-Pizza delivers a sub-par product. It’s located across the street from Jo Jo’s. We only wish we could recommend going there for a slice.
At $2.50 per slice, Pop-A-Pizza is cheaper than jumbo slices we often see in DC, or at Lorenzo & Sons in Philly for that matter. The crust is soft, but it’s not chewy or particularly flavorful. The thin layer of cheese does a decent job of melting in your mouth. The sauce is barely applied and probably canned anyway.
Folks in New Jersey might think they have better pizza than New York. But they are not talking about this place.
