Pizza Suprema – New York, NY

If you happen to be near Penn Station or Madison Square Garden, this is a pizza place worth going to. Suprema has been serving slices since they were 5 cents each and this family-owned pizzeria still knows what they’re doing. People from outside NYC who are thinking of opening a pizzeria in their town should visit Suprema as part of their research.

Slices ($2.50) are classic NY style and the spacious room catches the city vibe. The sauce is sweet and there is a lot of it. The pizza was a little oilier than we’d like and while crispy is good, both the bottom of the pie along with the lop of the crust in some places were a little too charred. Still, on a good day, this place’s slices could rival some of the best.

Overall, Suprema makes us wish we lived in the hood – we’ll not really.
