Pizza Grupo located on Avenue B near 12th street is a mid-scale pizza restaurant that tightly seats up to 35 patrons. Exposed brick walls and hardwood floors lend a warm ambiance to this tastefully decorated eatery. Pizza Grupo fits somewhere between pay at the counter slice joints and sit down, table service, personal pie restaurants. You can stand along the long stooled counter and order a slice for 2 bucks or you can sit down, share a bottle of wine and have yourself a personal pizza.

The slices are rather small so order accordingly. The crust is ultra-thin and very crispy, like a cracker. If you dig doughy crust, Pizza Grupo is not for you. The sauce is muted and there is a decent amount of olive oil added which creates a color shift from red to more orange. The cheese is of good quality and applied generously without being overwhelming.

Overall this is a good slice of pizza, probably the best in its immediate neighborhood. Generously sized salads and sandwiches are also available for those who may not be in the mood for pizza. Perish the thought!
