Koronet Pizza NYCKoronet is frequented by Columbia students and late night revelers. It’s located a block from Tom’s Restaurant, the diner made famous by Seinfeld. Koronet got overlooked by Jerry and the gang although we’ll never forget Kramer and Poppie’s cucumber pizza topping argument . . . “that’s not a pizza!”

The pizza at Koronet is extra large, similar to what we find in the D.C. area. One slice ($3.75) is at least the equivalent of two slices in NYC; they’ll cut it in half for you to share with a friend. The crust is thicker thanKoronet Pizza Restaurant Review average and is chewy. The cheese reminds us of Ray’s on 6th Ave / 11th St in both taste and quantity, but Koronet holds back a little in comparison. The sauce is what we liked the least. It is not evenly distributed and tastes canned with herbs leaving a long-lasting aftertaste.

All things considered, not a bad slice when you are stumbling home drunk or living on a college student’s budget.
