For anybody confused, Franco’s used to be called Franco’s Pizzeria. It’s trying to be a more “upscale” restaurant with its new name & dinning room next to the pizza counter. Franco’s is located in the almost forgotten about shopping center off of Rt. 46 with the old Grand Union, which was once the only supermarket around.

The PizzaSnobo arrived at Franco’s just after opening and we were disappointed to see that they were serving yesterday’s pies. The cheese in the display was hard and looked like it just came out of the fridge. Although reheated pizza can often be better than freshly baked, we were already dubious. The slice ($1.90) here is mostly cheese on crust. There is no real evidence of sauce. If you like a good amount of cheese, and no competing flavors, you’ll like Franco’s. The cheese was soft but not sharp. The crust was just ok, a little on the thick side of the scale.

Next time we’re going to order extra sauce on the side.
