Flippin’ Pizza – Multiple Locations

The Washington DC area has little in the way of NY style pizza slices, and few places manage to make it good. At Flippin’ Pizza’s newest location in north Dupont Circle, the lunch line starts early and it does not take much to fill the place up. People were already jockeying for seats at 11:45. It’s not so much that the pizza is great, but more about location and price.

The slice ($2.36) at Flippin’ Pizza could use more heft and the thin crust falls a little too far into the cardboard variety. On a positive note, the tangy cheese is reminiscent of mall pizza parlors that used to be all over New York and New Jersey, before the advent of the food court and Sbarros.

It’s a NY slice, but that doesn’t mean it has to be great.
