Jumbo pizza, shawarma and a place to sit. El Khartoum is located at the corner of 18th Street and U/Florida, just below Adams Morgan. It’s right next to Duccini’s, and not a bad alternative.

Jumbo slices ($3.85) are soft and the crust is pulled thin. We were given a U-shaped slice and not even the excessive amount of crust gave any crunch. But a U-shaped slice here is better than many jumbo slices we’ve had in the past. There is just the right amount of cheese and they apply a decent amount of sauce – mediocre though it may be. But surprisingly, El Khartoum somehow manages to come together though – relatively speaking.

After you have your pizza, right across the street are two great choices for dessert, Rita’s and Locolat Café.
