The PizzaSnobo is naturally a little skeptical of any pizzeria which has been rated the best in its state, especially one in the tri-state area. Our doubts grew even greater when we discovered that De Lucia’s sells frozen pies wholesale to take home and bake. The place definitely feels a bit like a factory, especially when you navigate around the pallets of stacked flour in the back room on the way to the bathroom. But there is indeed a great white brick oven here since 1917, baking pizzas since the 1930s, so we felt it necessary to give it a try.

Pizzas are sold by the pie, small ($6.31) or large ($10.43). The small is approximately 12-inches, larger than your average individual size but so thin and light that it’s possible to down in a single seating. The pizza comes out of the oven boiling but quickly cools down as there is not much substance to keep it hot. The crust is thin and crunches on every bite… too crispy for those of us who like to fold their slice. We don’t think a little extra mozzarella would break the fragile crust but what is there is a little salty. The sauce is mild but good.

Not the best pizza in the state but fans of Kinchley’s should think this is great.
