Buffalo La Pizzeria – Washington, DC

Yet another below average slice joint in Washington DC. Buffalo is located on 18th Street NW, close to U Street so it is a little removed from the ridiculousness that can be Adams Morgan on the weekends. As it turns out, the Buffalo name refers to a family related business and has nothing to do with mozzarella di buffala.

Slices at Buffalo ($3.50) are between a regular and jumbo size. The cheese is browned on top, giving added flavor, whether you like that touch or not. The sauce is on the sweet side and the crust is soft, dry and too tough. The kind of crust that makes your jaw tired. Still, we’ve had worse in DC.

It’s not as good as nearby Duccini’s, but Buffalo La Pizzeria is on par with plenty of other places out there.
