Bleecker Street Pizza – New York, NY

Bleecker Street Pizza in the West Village finds itself in good company, with treasured pizza Meccas like Joe’s, John’s and the more gourmet Kestė are all within one avenue. Happily, Bleecker Street stacks up well and it is much more than location that has kept this place in business.

The textbook-perfect crust is thin and crispy from tip to toe and is by far the best part of these award-winning slices ($2.50). We found the cheese and sauce to both be fine, but neither was inspired – certainly not when compared to the crust. If Bleecker Street attended to the sauce a little more, they would have one of the best slices in New York (and by definition, the world).

The interior is tiny and is not conducive to staying longer than it takes to inhale a slice or two, so consider having it delivered.
