Pizza Rating System

Perhaps you’ve heard it said that, “Pizza is like sex. Even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good.” You don’t have to agree wholeheartedly with that statement, but we hope you appreciate the spirit of it. After all, we’re snobos here, not snobs.

Why do so many of us love pizza, especially New York Style Pizza? It’s because an AVERAGE slice of pizza is so delicious it has achieved legendary and ubiquitous status. An average slice of pizza tastes great! We’re talking about a level of deliciousness that has swept the nation and the world. Not all pizza is as good as an average slice, yet average pizza (AKA Good; rating = 4 Slices) is arguably the most delicious food on the planet.

It’s not as easy as it used to be to find truly good pizza. Even some of the best and most famous places have lost a step or two over the years.

Each restaurant’s rating is based on how their pizza tastes. Ambiance, service, price, etc. do not count. A slice from a corner hole-in the wall can taste better than a D.O.C. pie from a fancy sit-down place.

To make for an even playing field, ratings are based on a restaurant’s plain slice or margherita pie, unless otherwise noted.
